Back in 80's when the supermonitor was developed, Bill Gates was telling us... "Nobody will ever need more than 640k RAM!" 

The Supermonitor was a lot of computer for the day, but it has very limited memory. They probably just ran out of code space to go beyond 2006.The good news is that there are only 14 unique calendar years and they repeat every 6, 11 or 28 years. So, 2007 is the same as 2001 and 1990. 2008 is the same as 1980.

I looked through pictures of a couple 7Ms I've helped rebuild over the last couple of years and it seems like Toyota started to beef them up for the 1989 model year in both turbo AND non-turbo form!  I have pics from an '89 non-turbo that show the extra ribbing on the outside and thickness on the inside by the crank.
