[Supras] Ideas on Caliper Painting

I agree with Jeff on this. If your going to paint the calipers they should
probably be performance calipers. But if they are really ugly and you don't
have the money to buy performance calipers then maybe I would paint them
black or even aluminum. If you just want them to look nice you can always
just lean them up. Dump the calipers in carb cleaner and let them sit for 6
hours. When they come out they will look brand new. If you still want to
paint them heres what you should do:
Autozone has a caliper paint that you can use. Just make sure the calipers
are so clean you can practically eat off them. Any dirt underneath the paint
will cause it to chip and peal off real quick. Maybe dumping the caliper in
carburetor cleaner and letting it sit for 6 hours just as you would do for a
carburetor. That should clean it off real well. Make sure you don't get any
paint in any of the moving parts. Also, keep the paint out of the mounting
holes or you could have problems with the caliper sticking to the bracket.
When you paint... the paint is pretty thick and high heat resistant so make
sure you let it sit for a while after you paint.
