I'm agreeing w/ Geoff on this one, I don't use anything but OEM for
coolant lines. You also mentioned this is an NA so you should be seeing
the same amount of heat in the back of the engine bay that the turbo
does. Reducing underhood temps are a good way to extend the life of the
lines/hoses but a year of life most be the wrong type of material
(possibly not automotive grade?)
As far as the hardpipe coolant supply line, I'm not a fan of that idea.
I think it needs to be able to flex as much as possible since the engine
moves quite a bit, especially after hard acceleration and slamming the
throttle plate shut.

If your hose back there fails EVERY YEAR, then someone is doing
something wrong.
Most people get a decade or so from OEM hoses..serious..why change what
works from the factory from say 1987?
