Subject: [Supras] Bubbles and spits!
Hi guys and gals, here's one for you! (88T Automatic 7M GTE)
Cylinder head gasket and all other gaskets under the hood have been
renewed,
the thermostat is new, the radiator is new, the fanclutch is new, all the
belts are new, and the valve-seal-gaskets are new, along with a renewal of
all
necessary fluids and oils (this all took place 60 miles ago). The
engine-compartment (area in front of radiator) is free of all obstructions
such as
leaves etc.
Scenario number 1: I drive in town and the temp gauge stays normal at
exactly 50 %.
Scenario number 2: I take the beast out onto the freeway (Autobahn) and as
long as I drive
(very fast!) and the engine is cooled by the
air from the front, the temp
gauge stays normal, or just "slightly" above
normal.
Scenario number 3: I come off the Autobahn down to a stop-sign, and the
temperature gauge
rises dramatically (I guess due to no incoming
air from the front
anymore), into the forbidden "red" zone!
Scenario number 4: I get home a few minutes later, park the beast in the
garage, hear a
bubbling and a gurgling from the overflow
watercontainer at the front, and
the Suprabeast spits a certain amount of
water/coolant onto my garage
floor!
My questions: 1. Would a more intensive "bleeding" of the water-system
alleviate
this problem (if there were airbubbles still in
the
system after the repairs)??.
2. The fanclutch is "original" Toyota and cost me 279
Euros - Toyota wouldn't,
by any chance, sell me a fanclutch without
fanclutch-fluid in it, would
they???
3. How do I test for the correct functioning of the
fanclutch?
4. Can anyone amongst you think of any other reason,
why my beast is doing
this (and tell me), before I sell the f****ing
thing, that I have been the proud
owner of for many years (1996!). This is the
second engine by the way, the
first one got mangled after the FIRST bhg, which
I
chose to ignore, and
which buckled just about everything under the
hood
that can be buckled,
and cost me 4.750 Euros at Toyota for a
replacement engine!
Any, and I mean any input at this frustrating point in time would be much
appreciated!
Many thanks in advance,
Derek from Germany
88T Automatic (for the time-being!).
