Power use should be minimual w/ the unit off, assuming that the compressor
bearings are in good shape. If you want to see the kind of difference it
would make pull the belt. As far as weight, you would shed a few lbs, but
there is a lot of work to do a FULL removal, and probabbly wouldn't be worth
it from a weight saving stand point on a street car. Biggest bennifit i can
think of would be to get the condensor out of the way of the radiator. This
would allow a little more air to the radiator and not give a place for dirt
and leaves and such to collect.
