Something else i did, I replaced that nasty green drivers side floorboard light (occasionally would burn myself on it) with a $20 "undercar LED" kit from advance auto. the one with the 8 LED modules. i drilled holes in the underdash panels on both sides of the car and set them to use the power from that green bulb. so now anytime i open the door, both floorboard areas are lit up fully. It's ricerish but it looks nice. you could build your own system with LEDs and resistors from radioshack prob for cheaper.

Dash LEDs?> > Replacing the bulbs in the dash of a supra to LEDs is pretty easy. http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm has automotive bulbs made with LEDs. the gauge cluster mainly uses 194 style bulbs which i replaced with the WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs. Note that these bulbs still have to be installed in the correct direction. normal Diod rules...if its backwards it wont work so make sure to test them after they are in so you can correct them before putting the dash back together. I also noticed the low gas light will faintly illuminate with an LED. I guess due to the lower voltage/wattage requirement to light an LED versus a filament bulb so i plan on eventually adding a small resistor inline enough to kill the light unless it's actually supposed to be lit. also the high beams light is like a spotlight at night and can be distracting if you're not expecting it or used to it. > > I personally swapped all the gauge lights to LEDs keeping all warning and indicator lights the stock color and only changing the gauge backlighting to Blue which looks very nice. i think it cost me about 50 bucks to do it but now i dont have to worry about bulbs going out or dimming over time. Remember to remove your dash and make a list of how many of what color bulbs you need. if i remember there are some smaller bulbs in there too that i cant remember of the top of my head what size. my ultimate plan is to replace all the bulbs with the exception of the headlights and reverse lights with LEDs. do the head and rev lights with Sylvania Silverstars.> > 50ish bucks for parts, about an hour of my time and my dash looks like new at night. i've gotten compliments on how nice it looks even though the outside of my car looks like crud (I REALLY need to get the car repainted)-Sean> > > > > Date: Fri, 27 Oct 2006 08:18:03 -0400> From: hachiroku_ae86 at verizon.net> Subject: Was Re: [Supras] dead alternator?
