[Supras] 1987 NA BHG repair

Hey all;

I have an 87 NA. I am trying to get the head gasket replaced, but have
a small problem. I need the tool to take it off. Looks like a
standard, but large hex wrench. The book says it is an SST
09043-38100. I called my local Checker, but they were not sure what
that was. I called the local Toyota dealer, and they told me to go to
Snap-On. I could not find it there either.

Does anyone know what size of hex bolt this is? I would like to get the
head off today so that I can find out if it needs to be machined. Also,
I was told that if I use the strait edge of a metal ruler to see if the
head is warped, that I would not really have to take it to be
tested/machined if the ruler shows it is true. Can I do that, or is
that a bad idea?

Sorry for all the silly questions. I am relatively new to the whole
'fix my own car' thing. Having a lot of fun, but making a mess. I need
to find a place to post some pics. The engine is disgustingly dirty.
The valve caps were not tightened down, and there is oil all over the
side of the engine. It has baked on, and thickened. There is oil all
over the spark plugs too.

Anyway, thanks for any help.

Jon
