[Supras] Why are we like we are?

If you could put a Supra body on it, you'd have something. On the other
hand, you could win a ton of money racing people who think it's a
beefed-up economy kid racer. Definitely a sleeper. That's what I liked
about the Supra - it looked fast standing still. When it was new, it was
faster than 90% of all the cars on the road and had the best long range
comfort. Now it's so old (but has held its design) that a lot of people
don't know what it is or how fast. Just drive slow and make them think
you can take them. ;-)

Another thing is that it will eventually start going up in value!

But yet others of us are fortunate enough to be able to afford a new or newer car which will outrun, outhandle, and outlast the Supra for around $30K or less. True, the Supra has the looks, but is that everything?

Why am I going through valve refinishing, short block assembly. complex piping on the exterior of the engine, only to face the task of doing a swap in a car that already has rust bubbles, upholstery with the fabric over the welting worn away, a car into which I'm pouring enough money for a sizable chunk of money for a new car?
