[Supras] 89' Door lock problems

I've had exceptional results with Kroil (www.kanolabs.com) as a penetrating agent. They even have a version of Kroil that contains graphite which I use for door locks of all kinds.

If it's dragging so bad that the electric lock won't move it you may
have to remove the door panel to get it properly soaked. I've had mine
sticking, especially the rear hatch lock and soak it down with
penephite which keeps me going for about a year.

Subject: [Supras] 89' Door lock problems

On my 89 NA Supra, the driver's side door key way/lock on the door
itself has always been shut, meaning, I cannot stick the key into the
lock. To me it's never really been a big deal as I just use the
passenger side and unlock both doors.

Occasionally, and usually when it's cold, the locking of both doors by
way of the passenger door lock will lock the passenger side and NOT the
driver's side, the switch on the inside of the driver's door is making
the click noise and moving over to the right a bit, but not enough to
actually lock the door. And I'd like for security reasons, to be able
to have both doors lock.

What fixes for this are there? Will any locks from 87-92 work on this?
Do I just swap in a new/used set, get them rebuilt? I still have the
factory alarm working and I'd like to keep that working as well. Do I
need to lube the locks? WD-40?, something else?

I don't really mind the key way door/lock on the driver's side not
working, I just want to get both doors to lock when I activate the
passenger side.

Any help/advice on this would be great!

Thanks,

Tom
