While frontal surface area of the intercooler is important so is the overall
design (bar & plate for the aftermarket intercooler) and the core thickness
(3 1/2 inches for the aftermarket).

Dear Khalid:
The core area appears to be quite a bit less than that of the stock
intercooler (the core is only six inches high), and size of the compresssed air
passages between the tanks seems larger. I could be wrong, but I'd suspect the
temperature drop to not be as good as the stock intercooler despite the greater
pressure drop. In heat transfer, especially air to air, surface area is the
key word. An intercooler that is larger and/or front mounted or ducted
would appear better.
Just a question on your 550cc injectors: Which ones did you use? Arelene
Lanman, a respected list member uses Greddy although they do not have the
sheet metal diffuser (?) that the stock injectors do. The only company offering
injectors with the diffuser seems to be Venom.
Thanks, and good luck.
