[Supras] Battery failed as direct short?

Hey Guys!

I had a battery sitting over the winter.  I just went to put the charger 
on it, and it acts like a direct short!  The charger acts the same 
whether I connect it to the battery or a wrench.  It pegs the gage and 
then the overload kicks out on the charger.  Whenever I've had a battery 
go bad, in the past, it's faults as an open circuit.  Anybody had this 
happen before?
