Seriously. So is this to say that a 1JZ (AL head and iron block) or a 2JZ
(AL head and iron block) will cure the problem? Or, as Aaron mentioned
before, a 5m head (AL) on a 7M block (still iron) will cure the problem? Is
this also to say that the countless thousands of AL head/Iron block motors
produced by nearly every auto manufacturer are all the victims of a
fundamental engineering flaw that will make the head gasket fail? I'm at a
loss here, if someone could help that would be great.
Or are we all relegated to using some AL/AL 4 banger Honda motor or an old
iron/iron small block V8?
I suppose the old iron/iron Ford 2.3 turbo motor would be a viable option
too. I kinda like that engine, so I'm glad I'm allowed to put that in my
Supra. But I guess I won't be able to use the AL Esslinger head... The guys
over there *obviously* don't know what they're doing.
Oh wait, those Ford 2.3T's have a problem spitting head gaskets too. That's
weird, I thought the magic iron/iron combination cured all that... Oh well,
back to the drawing board.
Maybe a twin turbo tri-rotor? Since they don't even have any head gaskets,
that'll be perfect. Oh wait, I have to chuck that whole thing in the
garbage at 60K miles when it starts coughing apex seals.
Damn, what's the answer??? Help!

I choose to keep all my other comments to you off this list as I'm sure most
people could care less... This statement that you repeat over and over
again is not only vague, it's incorrect and it upsets me that this goes
mostly quiet.. If you would reference a list of cars that have iron blocks
and aluminum heads (such as EVERY supra built in the last 2 decades) you'd
see that this statement means virtually nothing..
Everyone knows that Toyota released a service notice about the torque on the
head bolts... we all know that the 7M can chuck a HG, and the problem
compounds if you don't maintain the car.. Everyone here takes that into
consideration when repairing or modifing the motor (or the should)... I
reccomend you build a bridge, and get over it.
Z - ahhh the gold ol days...
