Dean:

At 18 PSI I can understand that due to breakdown voltage requirements, you might have been better off with MSD wire than carbon. My experience at 10 PSI was different, as stated in a former posting. However, my Supra has always idled so smoothly with carbon wire that a nickle could be stood on edge on the engine and not fall over (mine is a '90 with a fully counterweighted crankshaft). Spark gap breakdown voltage is low enough at idle that any spark plug wiring should work unless in very poor condition. But, apparently each of us have had different experiences. Such is life, and any of us on the list can offer only what experience has shown us.

        Bernie
