Group,
Its been a while, but I need your help. I have an '86.5 Supra with a
Jacobs ignition system (that worked great until I let the copper core
plugs go over 80K miles....) and I'm looking for replacement spark plug
wires. Looks like Jacobs has been bought out and doesn't make wires for
'86-'92 NA Supras anymore.
What I need is really high quality spiral core wires with a maximum
resistance of 100 ohms per foot. The coil wire does not use the same
type of boot (as the stock Toyota wire) where the wire connects to the
coil. In case anyone is familiar with the Jacobs coil, it is the
standard square, finned "Ultra coil".
Finally, anyone know which copper core plugs (numbers) are the
equivalent heat range of the stock platinum plugs (prefer NGK or
Autolite)?? Sorry, I've been so busy at work I haven't even had time to
pull one of the plugs in the car & check the number.
If anyone can help, please E-Mail me. This car is my daily commuter car
and I do not have another car ready to take its place. Need to get the
Supra back on the road ASAP.
Really Desperate, Skip
