Bout two months ago I saw a set of 4th Gen Fbody (Camaro,
Firebird..etc) OEM fans sitting at the shop and mentally sized them
up..they seem to fit a supra radiator nicely.
Yesterday, I finally took the time to really see, and except for
trimming for the hose connections, theyre perfect..almost couldnt be
more perfect.
I control each fan indicitually with Derale adjustable relay units,
Derale makes reliable setups, have yet to see one fail or short/etc at
any racetrack or on any streetcar that has em.

Each fan is set to 185d (pan of water & digital meat thermometer),
however the pickups for each relay are in dramatically different
places. The fan closest to the hot water input has its bulb epoxy'd
to the core directly under that hose, the secondary fan has its bulb
at the cold water outlet, so if the system gets that stressed, then it
will come on.
The green wire taps to the A/C compressor feed, and they both come on
with the A/C. Has made a difference in A/C output in city driving as
well.
The "holes" in the shroud are to allow air to pass thru freely at high
speed, and just like each fan, there is a divider thats part of the
shroud that goes down to the radiator to keep the fans from sucking
air from each other, or those voids...each divider, including the edge
of the shroud, has high density weather stripping on it.
Will get installed photos as soon as I have time this week or next
weekend, finished it in the dark last night.
These fans will remove any debate over fan reliability, they are
highly reliable in the platform they came from. They move enough air
to cool cars built with the same or more HP, and with heavy
mods..these are still used on the donor platform. If I ever overheat
with -these-, I will have bigger problems, it wont be airflow.
The fans are modular to the shroud, $15-20 will get another fan, and
four 10mm bolts later on jesus-clips..and yer fixed.
Double relays, I could have fed both fans off of one unit, but I
wanted to use less current in normal driving, make less noise when I
dont need it, and two units offers a highly reliable cooling system in
case one fan died or one relay (or wiring set) fails. I can still
drive home normally.
