In your EMS you have a setting for the fuel pump turn on time. If you turn the key on but do not start the car, it is programed to turn on the pump and prime the system for a pre-determined time. If you do not start the car, it turns the pump off usually until you turn the car on. I have mine set for 10 seconds.

Subject: [Supras] Strange AEM EMS activity

Any of you AEM guys mounted the box to a metal part of the car similar to
the factory ECU? I am working on an 88 for a customer, and w/ the EMS
mounted http://www.transonicracinginnovations.com/gallery/album28/93_G

w/ the key on car off the fuel pump will cycle on for about 2 sec, then turn
off, and then repeat. of course the car will not start w/ this going on.
If the box is ungrounded (unmounted), then everything seems to work well,
car fires up and seems to be happy.

I don't know what everyone else did w/ their EMS, if they left the lay in
the glove box or what, but i imagine that someone mounted it to keep it
secured. Ideal for me would be to find someone else locally that has an
87-88 GTE supra so i could test the box in their car and see if there is
sometihng strange wiring wise that i may have done to cause this. (the car
is running sequential injection, w/ MAP, and the AEM is controlling the
boost as well, or will be). Oh and yes i've talked to AEM on it, and they
weren't really sure lol.

thanks
Brandon
