One trick to make that job easier is to remove the alternator. You can then get a long 2 ft extension onto the bolt from the front side. Doing it this way I did not need to drop the tranny down.
Also, as noted before on this list, the 91-92 starter has threads in the flange, and so there is no nut to deal with.

Jusr replaced the starter about amonth ago. Most difficult job I have ever
done! You will need to drop the transnission down alittle to get some room to
get a very long extention and socket on the back side. I removed the
transmission crossmember & rubber mount. Also once you break it loose you will need to
hold the nut on the other side with something. I used a screwdiver. It took
about three hours total because of all the things I tried. I also moved the clutch
slave cyclinder and hose out of the way without disconnecting it. need to do
this to get my hand up and over the starter to hold the nut and to re-install
it.
