I think you NOW have air in the system and need to bleed it. You have a slave 
cylinder down on the transmission and it has a bleed valve on it. Also you 
might check for leaks in that area. This slave cylinder might need replacing. I 
had to replace mine a few months ago.
My guess is it's a slow leak and that why you didn't see any on the floor.
