[Supras] couple of problems

When you had the cap off of the radiator was there
water flow even when cold when the t-stat should have
been closed? If so your thermostat may be stuck open.
Without thermostat function the coolant temperature
may very well fluctuate.
The Toyota thermostat has a very small bypass that
will allow small flow but I don't think that would
produce a noticeable flow in the radiator without the
actual opening of the main t-stat valve.
