Yes, but check the main ALT fuse in the fuse box behind the battery.  I had a JDM 100A alternator 
in my NA while I was doing more serious car stereo stuff.  I've got an 80A in there now, though.

The voltage regulator is different between the 70A and 80A alternators, but there are some that 
have a third part number regulator as well.  These can be fitted to either an NA or pre '89 turbo 
for an 80A alternator.  (The NA kept the 70A alternator throughout.)  I found that the extra 10A is 
adequate for "casual use" of a good stereo system.
