[Supras] bad luck or bad mechanic.....

Wow!  These mechanics must see people coming!  $200 to clean and 'oil' a fuel line!?  Maybe I'm in the wrong business! I've never heard of cleaning and oiling a fuel line.

Well my 85 love mk2 has been treated like a queen - like she deserves.  123,000 
km. Last year $4000 paint job. This year $500 tires... Hard to find 14" 60 225. 
$1100. Changing all wheel bearings. Plus lately lost one cynder injector. $140 
injector $160 labour. My mechanic told me the fuel rail was really dirty and was 
cleaned. I drove her "Christine" for 60 miles . She was running like a charm. 
Next day coming home she was hard to start and wasn't running on 6 cylinders. 
They told me they had to clean gas line from tank to injectors and he cleaned 
and oiled everything - another $200. I had driven the car home for 8 minutes, 
and hadn't driven her for 5 days. This weekend I packed up the car and had my 
kids and dogs in the car ready to go, and drove for around 12 minutes. Everyone 
was screaming that my car was on fire. I continued driving for another 30 
seconds, pulled over, and shut off the ignition on a busy Montreal boulevard - 
luckily on a saturday evening at 5 PM. I feel
 that the fire had started because of the injector, and hadn't been properly 
installed. Luckily I had full fire and theft insurance and had it examined. 
Somebody passed by with a fire extinguisher and put it out quickly. I had the 
car towed to where my mechanic works. Tomorrow I am looking forward to seeing 
the mechanic's face and will see my insurance adjuster...
