I am selling my completely documented, 62,000-mile,
Super White, 1985 Supra P-type with blue cloth
interior in near-perfect showroom condition. Sunroof,
5-speed, everything but leather. Perfect original
paint, excellent original straight panels, and perfect
(except steering wheel -- see below) interior, and car
runs excellent --- and it passes smog far cleaner than
any other Toyota I've owned. Car has been for the
most-part in garage storage since 1993, driven only
about 20 -100 miles per year. It's appeared at two of
the Toyota Owners and Restorers Club international
Toyota meets. I have never seen a Mk II Supra in
better, more original condition, including some
20,000-to-50,000 mile Supras previously advertised,
and including the super-low-mileage Mk 2 Supra owned
by the Toyota factory musem collection outside of
Torrance. Only the front brake pads, exhaust, and of
course, tires, battery and fluids and filters (changed
religiously even when the car hasn't moved) have been
replaced. The rear window washer has never had fluid,
the front washer reservoir still has residue from the
factory fluid from Japan. Even the spare Bridgestone
with alloy rim has never been removed. And the seats
have been covered for protection for fifteen years.
Still has factory floor mats in excellent shape, as is
the rear hatch shade; console and under-hood
flashlights; and stereo. All of the black glossy
exterior trim is still shiny like new, and the
interior has not faded at all.
Fitted cover with lock; front bra; owner's manuals;
factory repair manuals; sales brochure, foreign and
American magazine articles; many extra NOS and used
blue interior parts for future restorations; and the
original leather shift knob, 18,000-original-mile
factory exhaust, and alloy rims (with NOS
white-lettered BF Goodrich T/A radials) --- all in
storage --- are included. All of the original wheel
center-caps are even carefully wrapped in bubble-wrap
and stored, along with the original chrome lugnuts.
(car sits on extra set of salvage factory alloys and
tires while stored).
The only flaws on car are all due from storage ---
blown steering rack, dry A/C, blown muffler (but
original exhaust system included separately), and
leather steering wheel worn from fifteen years of "The
Club" being on it.
I have found a car I want to buy ASAP, thus the price
for the next few days is as follows: $8,600 CASH FIRM
as is, or $9,000 firm with steering rack (quickly)
replaced, and you take care of A/C and replace exhaust
yourself.
After that, I've missed my opportunity, and the price
goes back up to $9,200 firm with steering rack, or
$9,900 firm with fresh rack, A/C, and muffler. I
know its not cheap, but an '85 with 106,000 miles , a
rusty spot, and torn seats recently sold for $5,000,
so I think the price for my car is realistic and well
worth it.
