[Supras] A/C booster fans

Guys,
I checked both the rad cap and the coolant this morning. With the rad cap
in place, I squeezed the upper rad hose, and doesn't the damn thing bubble
in the overflow. So, cap is pooched. Also the coolant is weak (looked
pale) .. Only good to -12. So, off to Toyota for some red coolant, and a
rad cap that works. Then see how it works, and go from there.
Again, thanks!

Thanks for all the responses, guys. A few thing to check tomorrow (it's
gonna be hot now after my commute).
#1: Rad cap ... Yes the rad is aftermarket and the cap from Toyota, so
I'm gonna check that ASAP.
#2: Coolant mix. It *should* be OK, but ....
#3: Rad has 10,000 kms on it. Replaced it for the rebuild back in '03.
I'm thinkin that is still OK, but will check if 1 and 2 don't pan out.
#4: Really don't think it's the thermostat. Engine temp gauge reads
dead center and rock steady, and has for all the 10 years I've owned the car
(well, when running, anyway).
After starting the engine again following the boil, the car immediately
sucked all the stuff out the overflow bottle and instantly the "carousel"
light came on. So thinking the stat works. Solution now is to turn off the
A/C, and put the Ttimer on 3 mins. That seems to prevent the heavy heat
soak. AND this is after the 134a conversion, which I hear runs hotter
condensor temps than R-12.
My bet is on the "wrong" rad cap ... Who else would know about that than
you guys! :)
Thanks again!
Eric
