[Supras] A/C booster fans

Thanks for all the responses, guys. A few thing to check tomorrow (it's
gonna be hot now after my commute).

#1:	Rad cap ... Yes the rad is aftermarket and the cap from Toyota, so
I'm gonna check that ASAP.
#2:	Coolant mix. It *should* be OK, but ....
#3:	Rad has 10,000 kms on it. Replaced it for the rebuild back in '03.
I'm thinkin that is still OK, but will check if 1 and 2 don't pan out.
#4:	Really don't think it's the thermostat. Engine temp gauge reads
dead center and rock steady, and has for all the 10 years I've owned the car
(well, when running, anyway).

After starting the engine again following the boil, the car immediately
sucked all the stuff out the overflow bottle and instantly the "carousel"
light came on. So thinking the stat works. Solution now is to turn off the
A/C, and put the Ttimer on 3 mins. That seems to prevent the heavy heat
soak. AND this is after the 134a conversion, which I hear runs hotter
condensor temps than R-12.

My bet is on the "wrong" rad cap ... Who else would know about that than
you guys! :)

Thanks again!

they are controlled by a temp switch in the t-stat housing in addition to
being activated with the a/c. as for will they come on with the motor off -
yes, with the key off and out - not on my car. How to change it - add
another temp switch and relay to provide power to the fans from the battery.

all engines heat soak once they're shut off and the coolant will start to
boil if there is no additional pressure on it. If the rad cap is leaking
the pressure in the cooling system will reduce to atm and the coolant may
start to boil - this is actually pretty common and not much to worry about
unless it spits coolant out past the rad cap.
