[Supras] starting issues?

Im going off to troubleshoot the pig. I was having sooo much fun with the maftpro that I developed a starting issue.
Problem might be because I just wanted to hear the engine start up so I connected the battery posts without tightening them and forgot to tighten them for a few days until the car acted like a dead baterry. Charged up the battery and tested the neutral safety switch and all is good.
No if I hold the key onto the start position I get nothing and if I hold the key on, it blows the 40amp fusible link labeled ma2 under the hood.
So I browsed some of the websites and see that wire going to the starter(brown connector) is a source of many ills. Im going out to look at it but cant find anything on what this wire is suppose to do. Is it suppose to supply volts, with key on etc?
you guys think I just developed a short in the starter?
I want to get back to boosting.
thanks
